Role: PMO Manager (Project management office)Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)
Rate: 55JD:
Establish and Maintain PMO Framework: Develop, implement, and manage the Project Management Office (PMO) framework, processes, and best practices for project execution.
Project Portfolio Management: Oversee project portfolio and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Prioritize projects based on business value and strategic goals.
Project Governance: Define and ensure adherence to project management standards, guidelines, and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, etc.).
Reporting and Monitoring: Track and report on project performance, milestones, risks, and issues to senior management. Provide regular status updates and insights to ensure that projects are on track and aligned with business objectives.
Resource Management: Work with department heads to ensure that the right resources are allocated to the right projects, ensuring optimal productivity and successful project outcomes.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues across projects, work with project managers to develop mitigation strategies, and ensure that project risks are monitored and managed.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to project managers and team members on PMO tools, methodologies, and best practices.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve PMO processes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery across the organization.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between the PMO, senior management, project managers, and other key stakeholders. Facilitate communication and ensure alignment across project teams.Key Skills & Experience:
Project Management Methodologies: Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies, as well as the ability to implement and tailor them to specific projects.
Project Governance: Experience in defining and enforcing project governance frameworks, ensuring compliance to project management standards.
PMO Tools and Software: Proficiency in PMO and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, Trello, Smartsheet, Monday.com, etc.).
Reporting & Analytics: Experience in creating project dashboards, status reports, and metrics to track project performance and communicate with stakeholders.
Risk & Issue Management: Proven experience in identifying project risks, developing mitigation plans, and ensuring issues are resolved proactively.
Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership skills with experience working with cross-functional teams, guiding and mentoring project managers, and ensuring effective collaboration.Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in managing or supporting a Project Management Office (PMO).
Strong knowledge of project management practices, standards, and methodologies.
5+ years of experience in project management, including experience working in or with a PMO.Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), or similar.
Experience with cloud project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, Smartsheet, or similar.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
